I have enjoyed this machine very much, embroidering and just sewing, it has many capabilities.

this machine is very easy to use

IMO... The Janome OEM (written by Wilcom) software is awkward at best and a full of technical bugs at worse. Company support is minimal. The machine itself is fairly easy to use. My machine is very well cared for but I lost a major bearing after very limited use. If you wish to digitize your own designs and not use pre-loaded cards or store bought designs save yourself 2 thousand dollars and refuse their digitizer and buy some decent software like Origins, Masterworks or even Generations for about half the price. This machine is okay for a beginner or hobbyist that embroiders designs ever now and then but not for someone that wants to make any more than 2 or 3 pieces at a time. If you want a machine that you can really use to do serious embroidering with but cannot afford a professional embroidery head look at the Babylock Embroidery Professional. The price is very close but the difference is unbelievable. I would never buy another Janome. Babylock has them beat hands down with their comparable machines in so far as quality. great OEM software and corporate support. I have over 12 years experience in custom digitizing and machine embroidery and speak from my experience with a number of machines and digitizing programs. I started this as a hobby and do not do it as a business but feel that a machine needs to be able to at least earn me my thread money back once in a while!

I have this machine, and the janome Digitizer Pro software, and have had no problems. I have used this machine for 3 years now and have embroidered jacket backs. towels, totebags, skate bag and many more items with no problems. I am currently also buying the new Janome MB4 home commercial machine.

by thumbie 26 Feb 2008 I also have this machine and love it. I want the MB4 home commercial machine also. Hopefully soon. :)

This machine is a joy to me. I do sewing and embroidery for personal use, gifts and quilting. It has a hearty heart for very thick denim as well as thin chiffons, without one uneven stitch. The ONLY negative has been it doesn't clip the threads, but for the price we paid on sale in 2004 a great deal at $3295 plus a rack of 100 spools of thread, I don't care about the thread clipping. Never a problem yet! It's been a work horse for me.

I also have thie machine, my first its okay but I am now looking for alot better digitizing software than the one that I bought for $600 and you really have to do alot of work tweeking the design after you digitize the design. I am an expert in sewing and would like to become an expert digitizer. And this software won't cut it.

I love my Janome 10001 very happy and still have my Janome 5700 in great working order...must admit use Embird for designing.. :-)

I love my Janome 10001!!! While I'm busy typing here, it's just doing its thing.... making lacy Xmas ornament covers.... all by itself!!! The problem is... there are so many gorgeous designs out there and just not enough time! Merry Christmas to all from the South Island of New Zealand!

I have updated to the Janome 11000 model and it has a lot more features on it, plus a bigger area for getting large objects through to sew, such as putting a quilt together. Fabulous machine looked at every one on the market but felt this was by far the best.Have had it for about 14 months I certainly have not been sorry it just is the best.Anyone looking for the best Im sure you couldn't do any better Congratulations Janome Regards Dixie

I bought this machine as a third embroidery machine and love it. I still love my 2003D Brother for embroidery because I find it hard to figure out colors on the Janome but the janome sews better than any machine I have ever used.

My gosh! this machine does many things other than embroidering. Wow I plainly love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could afford the model 11000. but this 10001 will do for my hobby.
