I've had my machine since March and really enjoy it. It is easy to use and cost less that some top home embroidery machines.

I really do hope people compare this with the new Janome MB4! What a joke... I still cannot imagine why any company would even bother with a 4 thread machine. That would be like making a 3 thread serger lol. It is a bare minimum to run with 6 threads for this sort of machine. A good close look at the true differences, of which there are HUGE ones, will ensure people will not waste their money. This machine is very similar to the BabyLock Embroidery Pro like I own. It is also a very well built machine. Both the BabyLock and the Brother are not as physically heavy as their commercial cousins and yet they are heavy enough to do the kind of work a fast paced semi-pro head needs to be to run at the speeds (easy~breezy 1000 spm) that these machines achieves so easily. These machines have intelligent AI firmware (that is easily upgrade-able through the usb port) so that the 6 thread set up is always easy to determine. User interfaces are a so well designed it was nothing for me to learn to use by myself. I was working on salable garments by the second day I had the machine! They also have all sorts of on screen menus if you need any sort of 'quick reference' help. I'm not saying you can start a sweat shop embroidery factory with this machine but if you want to make back your thread money and then some ...if you are going to 'run with the big boys'.... don't play around, buy a decent machine like this one or the BabyLock BMP6. If you want just another at home hobby machine to sew on baby bibs and towels buy a cheap one at Wal-Mart. Don't be fooled by name brands, look into who REALLY makes the machine you are buying nowadays... If you need to be careful with money, buy a used older machine from a reputable dealer. If you need a multi-purpose sewing machine invest in a decent at home machine like a Bernina or a BabyLock. My greatest advice is: Look into who owns the company that sells the machines, who does their customer support, are they sewing people? or do they read from cue cards like when you call about your computer woes at HP? Who does their engineering, writes their software and firmware and who does their support, it makes a HUGE difference.... I don't have a load of money to waste. When I invest this kind of money I do my homework... no matter how many sewing machine dealers I annoy with my questions!

I totally agree with you. I can't imagine Brother being out for 3 years prior to the Janome and they built a machine with less needles and smaller hoops what were they thinking??? Janome keeps comming out with new machines, and they could have had a lot of the 11000 features on the 10000 machine to begin with, but like everything else in this country its all about money.

I like this machine so far. But would like to learn more than what the book that came with it has to offer.

This is the ultimate "go big or go home" machine- started with a Singer Futura CE-100 and would have been lost without it, but this baby is a dream come true. As for the price- Ebay is the answer!

Check out the New Janome MB$, lighter and less expensive, but also a home commercial machine. Looks very similar.

Checked out the Janome and it has less needles and a lot smaller hoop. I figured since I was up grading I wanted the bigger hoops as well. nice looking but a bit behind on the Brother Machine.

I've had the PR600 for two years now and just love it. I would not trade it in for any other machine.

I have the Babylock BMP6 embroidery professional for only 5 days so far. It is my very first embroidery machine ever and I have to say for a beginner it is very intimidating! Well the operation of the machine and the software (Palette 7.0) is pretty straight forward however I have learned that there is a lot more to this embroidery thing than knowing how to run the machine and use the software. You need to practice! I have customers already wanting to place orders for promotional items for their companies and I have no idea what the going rates are to charge them! If anyone can give me a clue I would be very grateful. claudiascloset@hotmail.com Back to the machine. It looks exactly the same as the Brother model and that is because Brother manufactures the Babylock machine. They are ALMOST identical to each other. And, yes, not many people can afford to buy one of these puppies however most dealers will let you buy them on a payment plan.

I started with the Galaxy 3000 and upgraded to my first PR600, I now have 2 as I started my Embroidery Business with 1 machine only to find that one was not enough. PR600 is the best!! Australia

I have a Innovis 4000D and a PR600ll and I love both of them. I started a small business and that is why I have the PR600ll. I sew mainly on the other. I would like to purchase more machines though, then I can increase my business production. With 1 machine, it goes slow, but I am learning as I go and getting better every day. I believe all the mistakes I have made have been mine, not the machine. It is a great beginner machine, not to terribly expensive like others could be. I have started my business for about 15K and thats not bad for a business start up. Now the marketing.......ughhhhh. that is the hard part.

I have the machine for one month now. The quality of the embroidery is great. It is easy to change hoop but it would have been easier if you would not have to change the machine setting everytime (changing the size of the hoop support at the back). I am waiting for the PR-620 to see how they improved the caps installation. The software PE-Design 7.0 is not as good as I expected as I would like to do more than what I can do with the software. BUt for sure, I still need to practice!

I am new at this embroidery stuff but am smitten with it. I bought an ellure plus a few weeks ago and already want a more commercial machine. Can you tell me what price range this machine is in?

townie by townie 31 Oct 2008

About ВЈ5,000 (GBP) depending on where you buy it and what 'extras' you want with it. would recommend a second set of hoops (if you do loads of embroidery) and the cap attachment. I LOVE MINE - had it 2 years and very glad I invested in it.

Please be sure to check out the Ricoma 15 or 12 needle commercial machines. I have the Janome MC11000, it is a toy compared to the Ricoma. I have had mine for a little over a year now, and absolutely love it! The Janome - is just a sewing machine, and doesn't do such a good job even at that. I was so very disappointed in the Janome, I was a previous Designer I person - made the mistake and traded it in on the MC11000 - after all there was a special that if you bought the Janome MC11000, you got the nice little serger free. I was very disappointed in the Janome, my husband bought my Ricoma 15 needle last Christmas, of course I got it about a month before and had to learn how to run it. I LOVE THE RICOMA. Compare it to the Tajima. Sue in Floirda

I think this thread about embroidery machines is Great!I am interested in the purchase of a machine with a large hoop and the stability to withstand the repetitive use on a variety of fabric types. The embroidery only machine I feel is the best buy as long as you have a separate sewing machine. And a good heavy machine is the only way to go . JMHO
